KAF is a company producing date palm plantlets by tissue culture techniques in our Labs.

KAF has a forty years’ experience in a commercial plant tissue culture producing a cross France, Canada, Egypt and UAE.

 KAF is producing Barhi (female), Mijhoul (female) and Ghannami (male) date palm varieties.

KAF tissue culture production protocols.

  • Prework. We are caring by high selection protocols for the mother plants pre work in our labs which makes our date palm plants have high quality of fruits and high quantity of fruits production in the open field.
  • Lab work. Our unique tissue culture production protocols in our labs makes our plants true to type, no mutations nor soma clonal variations.
  • Lab work and Acclimatation.  KAF date palm plantlets have a good rate of growth in the open field because the unique protocols in our labs and our unique acclimatation protocols what it makes our plantlets has a high durability, high stress resistance and diseases free.

 BARHI:

  • is female date palm tree.
  • Fruits are sold fresh.  
  • Its fruits have a gold yellow color, good, sweet flavor and test.
  • Average of annual yield is about 200 kilograms per adult tree.
  • Able to grow in almost of atmospheres and regions.

MEJHOUL:

  • Is a female date palm tree.
  • Fruits are sold semi dry.
  • Its fruits have brown color.
  • Its Fruits have a good test not very sweet liked by everybody.
  • Its fruits are the most date fruits selling in the world.
  • Average of yield annual yield is about 60-70 kilograms per adult trees.
  • Need to grow in a hot and dry atmosphere to gain a good quality or fruits

GHANNAMI (MALE):

  • Is a male date palm tree, its pollen grains are used to pollinate females of date palm trees.
  • It gives a high rate of success of setting.
  • Pollen vitality lasts up to 85% with good storage conditions.
  • It gives more homogeneous fruits and thus a higher sales and marketing advantage for the crop.
  • It gives fruits characterized by a high percentage of pulp and small seed size.
  • It is considered suitable for most females, especially the Mejhoul, Barhi and local varieties.
  • It grows in various environments.
  • The male is sufficient to pollinate 25 females on average.
